I'm installing SP3 on a fail over cluster. I first installed it on the passive node, Z, and rebooted. Z came up fine. So, I failed over to Z and checked the version. Everything looks good on Z which is now the active node. I then
rebooted the passive node, Y. When it came back up I started the SP3 install. It went through all the steps clean so I pressed NEXT on the Ready to Update step. It gives me a few minutes of status messages ... Then, I see an Error flash, to quick
to read, and it says "Your SQL Server 2012 update operation is complete". I see no errors in the Windows Logs and there doesn't seem to be Summary Log File created from the update. Nothing got updated. I can fail over to node Y
and it is still the old version. I am currently running on Z with the new version. I have tried installing SP3 several times now on Y. Always the same problem. Any thoughts on why I can't install on the Y node?
