My client has a new machine running Windows 8 Professional with Media Centre x64, and upon running our ClickOnce setup file, it immediately exists with a non-descriptive/generic error. The log file it references is below.
In this version of windows, it seems that .NET Framework is handled through Windows features, and whether its installed there or not, I'm not able to get this setup to complete successfully. In any case, I believe it's seeing .NET Framework, but when it moves onto the SQL 2008 R2 installation part, it's failing.
There has been a related issue we've had recently with other clients, where the installer exits immediately in the same way. It turns out that something to do with this .NET Framework Extended and .NET Framework Extended Client Profile seems to be causing an issue, so I've been having to uninstall both of these and let our setup file re-install .NET Framework. This solution didn't work on this machine, unfortunately.
Any ideas as to what's going on?
