SQL Server 2012 Developer edition installed - receiving invalid license data message on SSMS start

I installed SQL Server 2012 Developer edition on my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 2. Now when I attempt to start the SQL Server Management Studio I get a message that says "Invalid license data. Reinstall is required." I read something about the CMOS clock maybe being wrong. I did have the wrong time zone in Windows and reinstalled SS2012 after setting that, but I still get the same message.

A little background: A little over a year ago I installed a full trial of SQL Server 2008 and after the trial period ended, I uninstalled, or at least attempted to uninstall it. After that I've tried installing different versions of SQL Server Express edition, all without success. I thought perhaps this might work being a paid version -- and it does seem to get farther along other than the license message. All other installed features seem to work fine.

Any ideas, short of restoring a drive image backup from before my SQL Server trial fiasco over a year ago?

Thanks in advance!
