SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition fails to install on Windows 7 64-bit

I am trying to install SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition alongside SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer Edition on my Windows 7 64-bit computer. The installation fails and I cannot understand what is going wrong. I'd be glad of any advice.
