If i purchase sql server 2016 4 core license for a vm/server,
1. can i install multiple instances of sql 2016 on that vm/server? I know doing that would make installed instances to run slow but can i do this?
2. if answer of question 1 is Yes, can i install one instance of sql 2016 and other instance of sql 2014? or may both instance of sql 2014?
My company is planning to do sql upgrade and hence we would be needing some licenses but before that i need to clear few queries.
It would be more helpful if someone from Mircosoft team can get in touch.
