SQL Server slow after rebooting windows server

Hi all,

At our office we have a weird problem.

We have a VM Windows 2019 Server dedicated for SQL Server 2016 fresh installed.

We use it for an Access application and for Exact Globe accounting software on Windows 10 clients.

There is a very odd thing that happends after a reboot of Windows Server 2019 and also after a period of time (couple of hours).

The software connecting to the SQL server gets very slow and every transaction has a delay for like 0.5 sec which is bad.

Now, when I log onto Windows Server 2019 and copy that a random file that is at least 500 MB from our file server, which is also VM Windows Server 2019, then everything goes back to normal whith no delays.

It is as if the Windows Server 2019 needs te wake up with some (network?) activity.

The IT firm installed a fresh Windows Server 2016 for me and after installing everything this also resulted in the same behaviour.

Has someone any idea what I can do ?

Thanks in advance.

Rob.
