SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c

Running SQL 2014 Standard. There are 2 NICS on the box one for user facing and one for admin access. Remote login to the server and in SSMS can connect using the user facing IP , but using admin IP fails with. (Application log : “Error: 17806, Severity: 20, State: 14. SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c, state 14 while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed.” And “Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication”, and syslog event id 6037: “the process sqlserv.exe, could not authenticate locally by using the target name MSSQLSvc/AdminDNSName:1433. The target name is not valid”).

When RDP to the server,I connect in SSMS with Windows auth NOT SQL auth.

In configuration manager, SQL is configured to listen to all IPs. I verified with netstat that it listens.

I found some posts for fixing using the LSA key in registry for loopback, but not sure if this is the best for security.

Any other solution?

Thank you,
