in the recent past I installed quite a few stand-alone SQL as well as failover SQL instances. During the many installation procedures I occasionally forgot to disable/uncheck "Use Microsoft Update to check for Updates (recommended)" or used a Config-File.ini with a wrong parameter ("true", you know what I mean). I intended not do so. Is there a way to rectify without having to reinstall anything e.g. with removing or changing a key in the registry? We have too many users already using the SQL servers, so starting from scratch or reinstalling is not an option, though technically possible. Backups are there : ) Thanks a lot in advance, guys.
