I have SQL 2012 on a 2008R2 Standard server (with SharePoint 2010) and cannot create a linked server to our SQL 2017 server. The SQL 2017 server is linked to the SQL 2012 server - no issues. I cannot even connect to the SQL 2017 server from SSMS on the
SQL 2012 server - but can from my Win10 &Win7 machines that have SSMS 2012 installed. Any ideas?
