access to management studio

Hi,

I would like to know what will be the right way to provide optimized from security point of view access to DB_owner of it's particular DB....

The scenario:

I need to provide access to particular DB of one DB_owner.

1. I think that I can add Standard AD user account of DB_owner to SQL server remote access group. So he can open remote session as a Standard user and than open Management Studio being a DB_owner.

2. or even more secure (if possible) to provide remote access to one of Windows VM with only ManStudio installed from which he can connect to DB. I am just guessing that Management studio should work from any network computer that is able to connect to SQL server.

Would the Server_name and DB_name will be sufficient for proper connection of DB_owner user?

Thanks.
