I recently tried to upgrade to SSMS 16.4.1, but now I can't use it :'(. The following error is thrown when I try to open SSMS 16.4.1:
"The 'SqlSourceControlPackage' package did not load correctly.
The problem may have been caused by a configuration change or by the installation of another extension. You can get more information by examining the file 'C:\Users\gkemp\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\AppEnv\14.0\ActivityLog.xml'
Restarting Visual Studio could help resolve this issue.

The program then opens, but I cannot connect to any servers. When I click "connect object explorer" the connection settings window flashes up for a fraction of a second, but nothing more. I tried reinstalling all versions of Management Studio on my machine and reinstalled all RedGate Tools products as I thought this might be related, but to no avail. I also tried to repair SSMS in programs and features, but was received the following error:
"Fatal error during installation (0x80070643)"
I searched for solutions for that error message, but they weren't helpful. Can anyone help me, please? Not sure what to try next :(
I can send both error log files if that makes it easier.
