Hi, I just installed SQL Server 2014 onto a 2012 R2 VM. It seems to be running fine. I decided to update it to SP1 by downloading/running SQLServer2014SP1-KB3058865-x64-ENU.exe . It puts up an "extracting" dialog box with a progress bar, seems to install a whole bunch of stuff and then, briefly, flashes up a Command Prompt window (maybe with an error message displayed?).
I have no idea what the command prompt window says because it flashes only briefly.
Nothing happens after that - I am guessing the installer gives up for some unknown reason.
So how can I further diagnose what might be happening?
