Hi Experts!,
We don't have enough volumes to fully implement the hard drive configuration best practices I have researched, but we did add one more volume.
Given that we now have 3 volumes including the root C, what would be the configuration for this?
Here is my initial thought:
- C:\ - Windows OS\ SQL Install
- D:\ - User Database (.mdb files) and System DBs data files (Master/Model/TempDB .mdb files)
- E:\ - User DB Log Files (.ldb files) and System DBs log files (Master/Model/TempDB .ldb files)
Is there a better configuration?
Should the SystemDBs (both the system mdb and ldb) be with on log file volumes instead?
Please advise!
Thanks,
