I am trying to install SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 on a windows server 2012 R2 essentials machine. Since Windows 2012 has DotNET4.0 framework built into the OS, why does SQL Server 2012 prompt me to install DotNet35, and SQL Server 2014 prompt to install DotNet3.51? When I try to install them using DISM it doesn't work, or if I try to install using DotNet35, DotNet3.51 executable's it still doesn't work? How can I get around this?
