Hi Guys!
I am all new to SQL and working with it for the first time.
My company have a normal windows 7 workstation computer, with SQL Server 2008 installed, its used to control the database for their Microsoft Dynamics C5 system.
Our company is moving to a new location, and getting a dedicated server.
I have DHCP, DNS, Print Sharing, and File sharing setup.
Now i am trying to get their MS Dynamics C5 moved to this new server.
My guess is that i have to install SQL Server 2008 R2 on the new server, and then use the management tool, to backup the database on the old pc, and restore it on the new server.
However.. I have now tried installing server 2008. And i keep getting a procedure call failed error, when trying to see the server in server configuration.
If any of you have some advice, or an easy way to move all this - im happy to hear it!
Atm. i have uninstalled all SQL server components, and will be starting from zero again :o
Hope anyone can help!
