Hello experts,
I have a SQL Server 2005 Instance running on "Windows Server Enterprise without Hyper-v" OS (this is the operating system name showing in the my computer properties) now i want to install another instance of SQL Server 2008 SP1 on the same server.
I have different disk drives available for data, log and temp files. Basically this instance will be used for mirroring with another SQL Server 2008 SP1 (with .Net framework 4.5) running on Windows Server 2008 Enterprise .
Could you please provide your suggestion/ experience on the following questions,
-->Does the installation of MS SQL Server 2008 SP1 is supported on "Windows Server Enterprise without Hyper-v" OS?
-->Installation of MS SQL Server 2008 and MS SQL Server 2005 side by side is supported on "Windows Server Enterprise without Hyper-v" OS?
-->If Yes, which version of .Netframe work should I use, (.Net 3.5SP1 or 4.5)
-->If I use Net 3.5 SP1 Framework does it have any impact when I do mirroring with my principle SQL Server 2008 SP1 (with .Net framework 4.5)
--> Also during/after the installation does it requires any system reboot?
regards,
Jakk
