Hello all,
Attempt of installing SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2012, Windows 8 failed with the errorWait on the Database Engine recovery handle failed. Check the SQL Server log fo potential causes, then under installation progress Database Engine Services Failed
- Couple things to note:
- When running the setup, got message: This program has compatibility issues Microsoft SQL Server (2008 and 2008 R2) Microsoft. Get Help Online takes you in never land....
- Setup support rules gave me two warnings:
- Computer domain controller
- Windows Firewall.
- Re-installed SQL again, the same error occurred. Performed a slipstream installation of SQL Server 2008 R2 + SP2 and same error occurred
- Section from the log:
Feature: Database Engine Services
Status: Failed: see logs for details
MSI status: Passed
Configuration status: Failed: see details below
Configuration error code: 0x4BDAF9BA@1306@24
Configuration error description: Wait on the Database Engine recovery handle failed. Check the SQL Server error log for potential causes.
Configuration log: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\20140210_104347\Detail.tx
.
Any ideas why this is happening? If i get SQL 2008 R2 SP2, will that install with no problem?
Thank you in advance for your help!
