This page http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143393.aspx says I can upgrade from other older products, but doesn't go back as far as 2000.
If I have to run a backup of all of my 2000 databases and then do a restore in 2012, I guess that's not the end of the world. Sure would be nice if there was a wizard in the install process that would do all this for me. Will a backed-up 2000 database restore with 2012 without issues?
Can I simply copy mdf and log files from 2000 to 2012? Surely it's not that simple.
When I run the 2012 Upgrade Advisor, it only sees the SQLExpress database that's also installed on this machine, doesn't list the SQL 2000 install.
BTW, the OS is Windows Server 2003 R2.
Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks
