I have been working through some startup and shutdown issues on a friends Dell laptop running Windows XP Professional SP3. Problem seemed to be related to free edition of some anti-virus software. System seems much faster now.
I have been able to install all critical Microsoft updates (through Microsoft Updates) except that this one (KB2463332) fails to install. Apparently this update has been failing for some time.
Error code is 0x65B.
I have read a few answers regarding this KB install failure. I have tried the FixIt for clearing out stuck Windows updates. Didn’t seem to help the install problem. Tried downloading and manually installing (KB2463332). This KB seems less of an update and more of an upgrade. Maybe I downloaded the wrong thing. There were [4] files which I could only install one of. Now there are two instances of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. The original one (MSSMLBIZ), which will not update/upgrade, is the one installed by Office 2007 with Business Contact Manager.
I hope someone can help me with this issue.
