Been reading a lot of opinions on setting up RAID configurations for SQL server. Seems like the old school way was to separate the MDFs and LDFs on different partitions, but I've read that this doesn't really help with SANs. My overall impression is this for a virtualized SQL server running on a SAN:
OS - RAID 1
MDFs - RAID 10
LDFs - RAID 10 (on a separate disk pool than the MDFs)
Does this setup sound correct? Please give me your opinion or if you need more details from me.
