I've tried to install the SQL Shared Management Objects 2012 MSI package on a VM running Windows 7 Enterprise (x86). I get the following message:
Setup is missing an installation prerequisite:
-Microsoft SQL Server 2012 System CLR Types. To
continue, install SQL Server 2012 System CLR Types from
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=116207 and
then run the Setup operation again.
However, installing the CLR types doesn't help, the error message continues to pop up. I've found out that this might be a problem with the MSI package but unfortunately couldn't find a fix. I can temporarily get around this problem by installing the SQL Management Tools and SQL Server Data Tools from the SQL Server setup, but I'm not happy with that.
