2012 Standard edition Virtualization limits

 I've been trying to understand how many VCPUs can be assiged if running the 2012 Standard Edition in Vmware 5.0 or later.  I have looked athttp://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143760.aspx but not sure if I'm interpreting it correctly.

2012 Standard has a limit of the lower of 4 sockets or 16 cores.  So if we have a quad 8-core host is my limit in vmware theoretically 16 VCPUs ( 2 sockets and 16 cores)? Assume hyper-threading is turned off.
