Just a quick question...when my TempDB for both of my SQL 2012 instances are on a single Raid 10 volume, am I correct in following all the guides about still adding additional NDF files to the tempDB for each instance?
Does one still gain the performance gains especially with Pagelatch wait type 2:1:3 (what we're currently seeing with 1 file) when all of the MDF/NDF/LDF files for the tempdb are on a single Raid10 volume?
Or should I look to split the Raid10 Volume into two Raid1 volumes and seperate the MDF/NDF files from the LDF files
Drive config is as follows..
OS: Raid1 / 15k SAS drives
DB: Raid 5 / 15k SAS drives
Logs: Raid 10 / 15k SAS drives
TempDB: Raid 10 / 15k SAS drives
