I'm trying to install SQL Server 2008 R2 and am getting the error message below. This is on a XP Pro os. Just prior to this I installed Visual Studio 2008 Professional and installed the SP1 upgrade. After installing VS 2008 I checked for additional windows updates and installed those, then rebooted and began installing SQL server 2008 R2. I get this error message and can't find any help on it, except another thread on this website that does not have a solution. Thanks for any help on this! I've spent many hours uninstalling and reinstalling and still get this message.
